Ahead of the Fed

Hello:

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meets tomorrow. Many pundits are suggesting that the FOMC will raise short term interest rates another quarter percent tomorrow. There is also conjecture that if Treasury Bonds are issued for the repair of the damage caused by hurricane Katrina, that long term interest rates may rise also.

Baby Boomers have given birth to half as many children as their parents; in coming decades, fewer children will be available to act as caregivers...[it is possible that] Americans will see more caregiving provided by friends. (Dychtwald, 1999).
