Consumers notice higher prices at the gas station and wonder why the reported economic figures do not reflect inflation. Decreased cost of services, in part due to the outsourcing of jobs, is helping to offset other sources of inflation. It would not be surprising if interest rates remained unchanged through the middle of the year.
Looking for another reason to contact a donor? Perhaps give them a courtesy reminder to bring all of their 2003 donation receipts with them to their tax preparer.
